Who we are:

ICAN UK & District Society is one of four District Societies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) located outside Nigeria. Established in 1988, the District is "The Foremost International District" and has grown to a current membership of 550. The various categories of membership are:

Fellows of The Institute:
Associate members of the Institute who have been in continuous practice on their own account for five years or those who are not in practice as an Associate of the Institute, for a period of ten years, are eligible to apply for transfer to Fellowship of the Institute.

Associate Members:
Members who have passed the examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or have fulfilled a prescribed requirement as laid down by the Institute and have been admitted to membership

Affiliate Members: 
Members of any professional accountancy body recognised by ICAN who is ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom or Ireland. Affiliate Membership will be valid from the date of admission to the conclusion of either the next 2 consecutive induction programmes held by ICAN in Nigeria or the next induction programme held by the UK District Society, whichever is later.

Student Members:
Student Membership of any professional accountancy body recognised by ICAN and the Student is ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom.
